About Embrace
EmbraceMyPlanet is the campaign for the expansion of renewable energy in the UK - the key to reducing our carbon emissions and stopping global warming.
STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLE
EmbraceMyPlanet believes that it is crucial to bring about a Britain in which at least 40% of our electricity is supplied by clean, sustainable renewable energy by 2020 if we are to prevent dangerous climate change and secure our energy supply.
To achieve this goal, Embrace believes that the expansion of our renewable energy supply, including but not limited to wind, wave & tidal power, is vital.
Embrace will therefore seek to persuade the Government to ensure that this target is met, and to activate the latent support for renewable energy throughout the British public in order to fight for this goal at a local level.
ABOUT EMBRACE
Embrace is an arms-length campaign of RenewableUK (formerly BWEA), the trade association for renewable energy suppliers in Britain. While it is sponsored by companies, the campaign itself is activist-led - Embrace provides the facilities for renewable energy supporters to campaign directly to their elected representatives, as well as organise campaigning events for themselves.
